Alpha Systems Waterjet Cutting
Some of the more exciting pieces of equipment in our facility are the waterjets. Our waterjet tables use super high-pressure (approximately 60,000 psi) water with garnet grit to cut metal. With a click of the mouse, we can cut any shapes or designs out of any material (not just metal that is softer than garnet, and will not shatter (tempered glass) up to six inches thick with great precision. Our waterjets also give us the ability to etch designs into the material, rather than cut it. Even the most intricate designs can be cut or etched with the waterjet tables. We can cut out blanks for your parts on the waterjets, then apply any other processes (i.e. stamping, spinning, breaking, soldering, welding, painting, etc.).
Some of the parts that we cut on our waterjets are:
This part is a wind spinner. If bent correctly, it will spin when hung outside in the wind. This piece was cut on one of our waterjets from a flat sheet of steel. It was then painted and clear coated by our finishing department. Notice that every graduating star is an exact copy of the last.

These copper parts are cut to their exact size and shape on one of Alpha Systems' waterjets from a 48 inch by 12 foot piece of copper. They are then straight line sanded and taken to a brake press and bent to form the parts. The ends are then rolled to match the tops and bottoms.
